A young man was killed and another was allegedly forcibly disappeared after a state-backed armed group raided a house in Panjgur district of Balochistan, local sources said.
The incident took place late Friday night in the Tasp area of Panjgur, where armed men raided the house of a local resident and attempted to take away a youth identified as Aminullah, son of Barkatullah.
Sources said Aminullah was subjected to violence during the raid and taken away by the armed group. His whereabouts remain unknown.
During the raid, another youth, identified as Ayaz, son of Khuda Rahim, was shot and killed after he resisted the attempted abduction, sources added.
The incident comes amid renewed reports of abductions and targeted killings by state-backed armed groups, locally referred to as “death squads,” in different parts of Balochistan, particularly in the Makuran belt.
Rights activists and political groups have repeatedly accused such groups of targeting Baloch political workers, their family members, tribal elders and other local residents.
There was no immediate comment from Pakistani authorities on the incident.
