Armed groups have claimed responsibility for a series of attacks targeting Pakistani security forces and infrastructure in different areas of Balochistan, according to statements released to the media.

In a statement, Major Gwahram Baloch, spokesperson for the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), said the group carried out an improvised explosive device (IED) attack on 9 April in the Mand area of Kech district, between Radig and Mehir at a location identified as Kudomb. He claimed the attack targeted personnel assigned to provide security to a military convoy, resulting in the death of one Pakistani soldier and injuries to several others.

The spokesperson added that in a separate incident on 8 April, BLF fighters attacked a Frontier Corps (FC) camp in the Toba area of Parom, Panjgur district. According to the statement, the attack occurred while personnel were engaged in installing a protective fence around the camp. One FC personnel was reported killed and two others injured.

The BLF also stated that a police official, identified as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Anwar Ali, had been released along with his son after previously being held in the group’s custody. According to the statement, he had been detained last month during an operation in the Karkh area of Khuzdar. The group said the release was carried out on humanitarian grounds and issued a warning to him.

In a separate development, the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) claimed responsibility for an attack on a gas pipeline in Sibi. In a statement, spokesperson Dostain Baloch said the pipeline was targeted using explosives near Killi Nasran Chowk, in front of a DSP residence.
