A protest camp organised by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances has completed 6,104 days outside the Quetta Press Club in Quetta.

The demonstration is being led by VBMP chairman Nasrullah Baloch. According to the organisation, individuals from different walks of life visited the protest camp and expressed solidarity with the families of missing persons.

Speaking on the occasion, Nasrullah Baloch said that enforced disappearances constitute actions outside the law and represent serious violations of citizens’ fundamental rights. He stated that thousands of Baloch individuals have allegedly been forcibly disappeared in Balochistan, leaving many families in prolonged distress and uncertainty.

He further said that the state should deal with the families of missing persons in accordance with the country’s laws. If any individual is taken into custody by state institutions, he said, they should be produced before a magistrate within 24 hours as required under legal procedures.

Nasrullah Baloch also called for an end to enforced disappearances and alleged extrajudicial killings of missing Baloch individuals, urging authorities to ensure the recovery of missing persons and to take practical steps under the law to address the issue.
