The protest camp organised by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan completed 6051 days of consecutive protest outside the Quetta Press Club on Thursday, under the leadership of the organisation’s chairman, Nasrullah Baloch.

People from different walks of life visited the camp and expressed solidarity with the families of the missing persons, reaffirming support for their long-standing demand for justice and accountability.

Family members of forcibly disappeared Nasreena Baloch also joined the protest and recorded their objections. According to her relatives, Nasreena Baloch was taken into custody on November 22 last year from near Zehri Goth, close to Daroo Hotel in Hub Chowki, allegedly by personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC), the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and other state institutions, in their presence.

The family said they approached the relevant police station to seek legal recourse, but an FIR regarding Nasreena Baloch’s disappearance was not registered. They added that no information had been provided about her whereabouts so far, leaving the family under severe psychological distress.

Nasreena Baloch’s relatives stated that their participation in the protest camp was aimed at ensuring their voice was heard and that justice was pursued under the country’s laws. They appealed to members of the Baloch community and people from all segments of society to raise their voices against the enforced disappearance of Nasreena Baloch and other Baloch women.

Addressing the gathering, VBMP chairman Nasrullah Baloch said that the enforced disappearance of Nasreena Baloch and other Baloch women, and the failure to produce them before courts, constituted a grave violation of citizens’ fundamental rights. He strongly condemned the practice and urged the government to take immediate and effective measures for the safe recovery of all forcibly disappeared Baloch women.
