Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) said it has received a complaint alleging that a woman identified as Fatima Baloch was taken into custody by security forces from a check post in Hub Chowki in the early hours of January 13 and later shifted to an undisclosed location.
In a statement, the group said Fatima’s family has not been informed about her whereabouts since her alleged detention.
VBMP further said that Fatima Baloch’s husband, Noroz Baloch, was previously taken into custody from the same Hub check post on November 14, 2024. According to the statement, he was held in secret detention for around 20 days before being released.
The group claimed that repeatedly targeting members of the same family reflects what it described as a troubling pattern of threats and retaliatory actions against relatives of people who have previously faced enforced disappearance.
VBMP chairman Nasrullah Baloch said enforced disappearances, particularly of women, constitute serious violations of domestic laws and human rights. He said such actions amount to collective punishment and create fear among affected families.
He called on senior authorities to ensure the immediate recovery of Fatima Baloch and other allegedly missing Baloch women. He added that if there are allegations against them, they should be brought before a court and given the right to legal proceedings.
There was no immediate response from Pakistani authorities regarding the allegations.
