The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a “pro-independence” armed group, said on Wednesday that its fighters killed two Pakistani soldiers in separate attacks in Panjgur and Kalat.
In a statement, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said fighters targeted a military vehicle with a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) near the Customs area of Panjgur on Monday. He said the blast killed two soldiers on the spot and injured three others, adding that the vehicle was damaged.
The BLA said its fighters also fired multiple grenades at the mess of a Pakistani army camp in Kalat on Wednesday night, claiming the attack caused casualties and material losses.
In a separate statement, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) said its fighters carried out several attacks in Mand, Turbat, Hub and Nasirabad on 6 and 7 January.
BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said fighters targeted an “open court” (jirga) organized by Pakistani forces at Zubaida Jalal School in Mand, where multiple grenades were fired, injuring two Customs personnel and one Frontier Corps (FC) official. Several vehicles, including an FC vehicle, were damaged, he added.
BLF said its fighters later established a blockade on a section of the CPEC highway linking Turbat, Gwadar and Karachi. According to the statement, fighters detained police personnel at a nearby checkpoint and confiscated government-issued weapons.
The group alleged the checkpoint had been used to “harass the public and collect extortion.”
BLF said its fighters also attacked a Coast Guard checkpoint with a hand grenade on the Hub–Winder highway, injuring one FC personnel and damaging the post.
On 7 January, the group said its fighters destroyed surveillance cameras installed by Pakistani forces in Nasirabad.
Pakistani authorities had not issued any confirmation or response to the claims at the time of publication.
