New cases of alleged enforced disappearances have been reported from different areas of Balochistan in recent days, highlighting what families describe as a continuing human rights crisis, while several previously detained individuals have also returned home.
According to local sources, Pakistani forces allegedly took Mehran s/o Baig Muhammad, a resident of Bal Nagor in the Dasht area, into custody from Turbat Hospital at around 2 a.m. and shifted him to an undisclosed location. Mehran was undergoing nursing training at the time of his detention.
In a separate incident, Sohail s/o Lal Bakhsh, aged 31 and a resident of Parom, Panjgur, was allegedly taken from his home by Pakistani forces at around 2 a.m. on January 14, 2026, and moved to an undisclosed location.
Another case was reported from Gwadar, where Munir s/o Jan Muhammad, aged 42 and a resident of Panwan, Jiwani, was allegedly detained by Pakistani forces at around 2 a.m. on January 13, 2026, and shifted to an undisclosed location.
Meanwhile, six individuals previously reported missing have returned to their homes after their release.
Those released include Amjad s/o Muhammad, a resident of Mastung; and Saghir Ilahi s/o Ilahi Bakhsh, Salam s/o Khalid, and Siraj s/o Barkat, residents of Hotabad in Kech district. According to sources, they were allegedly taken into custody on January 7, 2026, and released on January 14, 2026.
Fazil Rafiq s/o Muhammad Rafiq, a resident of Bulgathar in Kech, who was also allegedly detained on January 7, 2026, was released on January 14, 2026, from the Balicha area of Tump, Kech.
Separately, Parvez s/o Safar, a resident of Kailkor in Kech, who was reportedly abducted on October 20, 2025, was released on January 13, 2026, from the DC Office in Turbat, Kech.
