The Balochistan government has imposed a six-month ban on strikes by teachers and other employees in government schools.
According to an official notification, the order has been issued under Section 6 of the Balochistan Essential Educational Service Act, 2019, which designates educational services as essential and prohibits strikes and lockdowns in the sector.
The ban comes as government employees across Balochistan continue protests demanding the Disparity Reduction Allowance (DRA), with demonstrations disrupting activity in several government departments.
Officials said the measure aims to ensure the “uninterrupted continuation of educational activities” and that any violation of the Act will be treated as illegal.
The notification added that disciplinary action would be taken against employees who defy the order.
