An elderly disabled woman, Shaher Bano, appeared at the Khuzdar Press Club on Wednesday to appeal for the safe recovery of her missing grandson, Shoaib Ahmed Mengal, who she says has been missing for the past two months from Awaran district.
Speaking at a press conference, Shaher Bano, who is unable to walk without a stick, broke down in tears as she recounted that Shoaib, the orphaned son of the late Abdul Manan, was her only source of support. She explained that Shoaib lost his parents at a young age, and she had raised him herself. The young man worked as a driver to provide for the household.
According to her, Shoaib Ahmed traveled to Jhao in Awaran district two months ago and has not returned since. She claimed he was abducted along with his vehicle and that all her efforts to trace him have so far failed.
“My grandson was my only support. I came here with a stick, but my real support has been taken from me,” Shaher Bano said, appealing to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, the Commissioner of Kalat Division, and the Deputy Commissioner of Awaran to take urgent action for his recovery.
She also requested the cooperation of the Baloch community, urging anyone with information about Shoaib Ahmed Mengal’s whereabouts to inform the Khuzdar Press Club or the office of the Deputy Commissioner Awaran.
