The bullet-riddled body of a man who had been forcibly disappeared was recovered in Balochistan’s Barkhan district, local sources said.

The victim was identified as Muhammad Nawaz, son of Shahsawar Khan, who had been detained by Pakistani forces on 10 September from the Rakhni area of Barkhan.

His family said they searched for him for weeks but authorities never confirmed his arrest. On 30 September, his body was found bearing multiple bullet wounds.

There has been a surge in the killing of enforced disappearance victims in recent months.

On Wednesday, four other bodies were recovered from different parts of Balochistan. Three young men identified as Quddous Baloch, Neik Saal Baloch and Nazar Arz Muhammad, were found in the Sorap dam area of Buleda, Kech district.

Families said they had been detained by Pakistani forces and members of a government-backed militia, known locally as a “death squad,” on 30 September. Their bodies were recovered the following day.

In a separate case, the body of Janzaib Baloch, a labourer from Gwadar’s Pasni area, was discovered near the Makuran Coastal Highway in Uthal, Lasbela district. He had been abducted from his home on 28 September.

Families and human rights groups say such incidents reflect a long-standing pattern of enforced disappearances followed by extrajudicial killings in Balochistan. Despite repeated appeals for independent investigations and accountability, authorities have yet to respond, leaving families without justice.
