Two separate incidents involving militant groups were reported on Wednesday, with the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) saying its fighters detained police officers in Dhadar, and the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) claiming responsibility for an explosion that damaged a major gas pipeline between Sui and Kashmore.

According to a statement issued to the media by BLF spokesman Major Gwahram Baloch, fighters encountered a police patrol in the Allah Yar Shah area of Dhadar at about 17:00. The statement said the patrol was surrounded, officers were detained and their service weapons seized; the vehicle allegedly used by the officers was set alight. The BLF spokesman added that an initial interrogation found the detained officers were not engaged in activities against the Baloch people or the national movement, and they were released unharmed. The BLF said it accepted responsibility for the operation.

Separately, BRG spokesman Dostain Baloch told media the group had overnight planted explosives on a 36-inch diameter gas pipeline running from Dera Bugti’s Sui field towards Karachi, between Sui and Kashmore, causing significant damage. The BRG statement said the action was part of a campaign that would continue until the group’s stated political objectives were met, and claimed responsibility for the attack.

There was no immediate official comment from police or federal authorities in either locality at the time of the reports. Local officials and security sources are expected to investigate both incidents; damage to the pipeline could have implications for gas supply and infrastructure security in the affected region.

Both incidents highlight ongoing tensions and militant activity in parts of Balochistan and adjoining areas. Independent verification of the claims was not available from government sources at the time of publication.
