Fighting between Pakistan armed forces and Baloch armed groups continued for a second consecutive day in parts of Zehri tehsil, Khuzdar district, with reports of helicopter shelling and mortar fire by Pakistani forces.
Witnesses in the Anjeera and Gazzan areas reported low-flying helicopters carrying out strikes, while mortar rounds were also fired. No confirmed reports of casualties have yet been received.
The renewed clashes follow an incident on Wednesday in which a convoy of around ten security vehicles reportedly came under heavy attack in Anjeera. Local sources claimed that four vehicles were directly hit, though officials have not provided details of losses.
The wider Zehri region has seen increasing instability in recent months. Since August, local sources say armed Baloch fighters have been observed mounting checkpoints and patrolling the area, raising questions about government control. Earlier this month, airstrikes by jets and drones targeted two locations in Zehri. Residents alleged that civilians, including women and children, were among those killed, though official confirmation has not been issued.
Authorities have so far declined to comment on the latest clashes.
