A fresh wave of enforced disappearances has been reported across Balochistan and Karachi, with at least thirteen individuals allegedly taken into custody by Pakistani forces in the last two days, without judicial warrants or formal charges.

According to reports,Pakistani forces allegedly raided a house and foricibly disappeared a man named Madali son of Muskali, lehri. According to the family members, during the raid, the forces also took home valuables and a motorcycle with them.

Meanwhile, The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) reportedly raided the residence of National Party leader and elected Union Council Vice Chairman, Kacha Bagho, in the Rakhni area of Barkhan district in the early hours of July 31. According to family members, the CTD personnel entered the house without a warrant and detained his son, Salal Khan, and nephew, Sattar Khan. Both have since been taken to an undisclosed location.

“No legal documentation or explanation was provided during or after the raid,” the family stated. “This action is not only a violation of constitutional rights but also an insult to the dignity of an elected public representative.”

In a separate incident, a young man identified as Gul Mir was detained during a nighttime raid in Rakhni city.

Meanwhile, reports from Jiwani in Gwadar indicate that two residents, Mohammad son of Rahmat and Ibrahim son of Hanif, were also detained, allegedly by Pakistani forces, and have not been seen since.

Separately, in Karachi’s Saddar area, armed, masked men in plain clothes abducted Kashif Yaqoob, a businessman from Lyari, at around 6:00 PM on July 30. Witnesses say he was taken from his mobile phone shop at Amma Tower without explanation and driven away to an unknown destination.

In a separate but similar development, three men, Fazal-ur-Rehman Qambrani, Zia-ur-Rehman Qambrani, and another man were reportedly abducted by Counter Terrisiom Department (CTD) around 12:30 AM from their home in Killi Qambrani area of Quetta on Thursday. Notably, both Fazal-ur-Rehman and Zia-ur-Rehman had previously been disappeared in March this year and released in April.

A similar raid took place in Bolan district, where local sources confirm the detention of another young man, named Gul Meer, who has since gone missing.

While two previously missing persons, one idenrified as Jalal son of Allahdad Marri, the second person’s identity has not been confirmed yet — were recovered from Loralai on July 31.

It pertains to mention that enforced disappearances are not uncommon in Balochistan and continue to rise on a daily basis. Recently, the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) and other watchdogs have condemned the spate of disappearances, calling them clear violations of legal and ethical norms. They have demanded the immediate release or formal legal proceedings for the detainees.

The Pakistani authorities have neither confirmed nor denied the allegations. Notably, authorities often refuse to comment or deny the allegations, but Baloch circles and international human rights watchdogs accuse the Pakistani military and powerful intelligence agencies of being behind the incidents.
