The bodies of two men previously reported missing have been recovered in Balochistan’s Awaran and Panjgur districts, according to local sources and activists.
In Awaran, residents said that a young man identified as Nawaz Baloch, a local of the district, was summoned to a nearby Pakistani military camp two days ago and subsequently went missing. His family reported that his body was found on Friday in the Reken area of Awaran.
In a separate incident, Hasan Jan, son of Jan Muhammad, was reportedly abducted a few days earlier in Hoshab, Kech district, by an armed group that locals refer to as a “death squad”. Rights activists allege that such groups operate with the backing of Pakistani intelligence agencies. Hasan Jan’s body was recovered on Friday from Panjgur.
Human rights organisations have repeatedly raised concerns over enforced disappearances and alleged extrajudicial killings in Balochistan. Advocacy groups claim that hundreds of people are reported missing across the region each year.
Authorities have not yet issued a statement regarding the latest incidents.
