At least five individuals have reportedly been subjected to enforced disappearance by Pakistani security forces during a raid in the Mirabad area of Tump, Balochistan’s Kech district.

According to local sources, the incident occurred during a series of raids conducted in the Mirabad and Neckwah areas. While several detainees were later released, five individuals remain in the custody of the forces and are considered missing.

The missing persons have been identified as Ayub s/o Baksh, Fazal s/o Fida, Saeed s/o Dad Mohammad, Zia-ul-Haq s/o Asadullah, and Abid Ali s/o Asadullah.

Enforced disappearances have become a recurring issue in Balochistan, with reports of alleged daily abductions by Pakistani forces. In many cases, families claim the bodies of missing individuals are later recovered under suspicious circumstances.

Meanwhile, the family of Zafarullah Bangulzai, a student of the Engineering University Khuzdar, marks 15 years since his enforced disappearance. Zafarullah was reportedly detained on July 13, 2010, during a military operation in Kabu village, Isplinji, Tehsil Dasht of Mastung district, along with his maternal uncle, Dr. Sarwar.

Zafarullah Bangulzai was allegedly abducted on July 13, 2010, and has been missing ever since

A final-year civil engineering student at the time, Zafarullah has not been seen or heard from since his detention. His mother says the prolonged silence has caused unbearable psychological distress for the family.

“Our home has become a graveyard. All joy has vanished,” she said. “We knocked on every door — state institutions, courts, commissions — but no one listened.”

In an emotional plea, she called on international human rights organizations and global justice institutions to take urgent notice.

“I appeal to the world’s conscience, to all human rights bodies and justice institutions, to raise their voice for my son, Zafarullah Bangulzai, and help us bring him home.”
