As the first anniversary of Baloch Raaji Muchi (Baloch National Gathering) approaches, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has announced a series of commemorative events to mark the occasion. Described as more than just a political gathering, Raaji Muchi has now evolved into a symbol of Baloch national heritage and unity.
According to a statement issued by the BYC, Raaji Muchi brought together thousands of Baloch from across the region, who undertook long and arduous journeys to Talar and Gwadar, demonstrating a powerful sense of national cohesion and resistance. The gathering was not only a show of solidarity but also a reaffirmation that true strength lies in national unity and public will, not in systems built on repression and violence.
The committee emphasised that the event was illuminated by the sacrifices of unarmed Baloch martyrs, whose blood inspired thousands to unite against forces threatening national survival and collective identity. Raaji Muchi rejected social divisions and delivered a message of resistance and awareness to every Baloch household.
To further this spirit of consciousness and resistance, the BYC has announced a range of intellectual, political, and public programmes to be held in connection with the anniversary. These include:
- Webinars focusing on Baloch national unity, the current political landscape, and the history of resistance.
- Academic discussions and public forums across Balochistan under the theme “Baloch Raaji Muchi: National Unity and the Philosophy of Resistance.”
- Pamphlet distribution campaigns to raise political and social awareness.
- Social media awareness campaigns to engage the wider public digitally.
- Grave visits and chadar-poshi (covering the graves) ceremonies to honour the martyrs of the movement.
The organisation has urged all its regional branches and zonal bodies to begin preparations for these events immediately.
In its public appeal, the BYC called upon the Baloch people to actively participate in local intellectual sessions, attend memorial ceremonies at the graves of martyrs, and take part in the online awareness campaign to ensure the spirit of Raaji Muchi continues to grow.
