The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for a series of armed operations carried out over the past three days across Khuzdar, Kalat, Kech, and Kharan districts of Balochistan.
The operations included the targeted killing of a key “death squad” operative, the seizure of a police checkpoint, a roadside bomb attack on a military convoy, and a grenade launcher assault on a Pakistani army post.
On Monday night, BLF fighters reportedly shot and killed Khalid Lashari in the Norgama area of Zehri, Khuzdar district. The group alleged that Lashari, a resident of Zehri and son of Mola Bakhsh, was affiliated with a local “death squad” operating under the command of Shafiq Ahmed Mengal—a figure frequently accused of working with Pakistani military intelligence in the Jhalawan region.
In a statement, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said the killing was carried out based on “organizational intelligence” and framed it as accountability for Lashari’s alleged involvement in enforced disappearances and violence against Baloch youth.
The group issued a broader warning to other alleged operatives of such networks. “If any operative reaches out to BLF’s regional leadership, confesses to their past actions, pledges to sever all ties with the enemy, and provides credible guarantees to uphold this commitment, the BLF will grant them forgiveness and an opportunity to rehabilitate,” the statement read. “Otherwise, they will be targeted.”
In a separate incident on Monday night, the BLF claimed it seized a police checkpoint in Kalat city. According to the group, BLF fighters surrounded the post on Shopping Road at around 11:30 PM, disarmed the police personnel, and confiscated all government-issued weapons.
The officers were reportedly questioned and released unharmed after no evidence was found linking them to operations against the Baloch movement. The group said the action was part of its broader campaign to weaken state presence in Balochistan.
On Wednesday afternoon, BLF fighters carried out a roadside bomb attack in Buleda targeting a Pakistani military convoy assigned to protect road construction crews on the Buleda-Zamuran route.
According to the group, an improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a motorcycle was detonated as the convoy passed through the area at around 1:00 PM. The BLF claimed two Pakistani soldiers were killed in the blast and one vehicle was destroyed.
The group warned contractors to halt work on what it called an “exploitative route,” accusing it of serving Pakistani military logistics. “Failure to cease work will result in direct targeting of machinery and personnel,” the statement warned.
On Thursday, the BLF also claimed responsibility for a grenade launcher attack on a Pakistani army checkpoint in Kharan city. The attack took place at around 2:00 PM near Latad Road and the Southern Bypass. The group said several grenades hit designated targets inside the post, resulting in what it described as both “human and material losses.”
“These operations are part of our continued resistance against the occupying forces,” the statement concluded.
At the time of publication, Pakistani authorities had not issued any official comment on the incidents.
