A group of armed men attacked and briefly took control of a police station in the Jusak area of Turbat, the main city in Balochistan’s Kech district, early Thursday morning.

Local sources said the attackers entered the station around 5:00am, disarmed police personnel, and confiscated government-issued weapons and equipment. The building was then set on fire before the assailants fled the scene.

Eyewitnesses described the incident as a “well-organized operation” carried out with speed and precision. Footage circulating on social media appeared to show the police station engulfed in flames.

BLF Claims Responsibility for Series of Attacks

Later on Thursday, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for the attack.

In a media statement, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said the group’s fighters had “surrounded a police checkpoint in Jusak, Turbat, seized all government weapons and equipment, and torched the station along with official documents.” He added that the police personnel were released after being warned.

The attack in Turbat appeared to be part of a broader wave of coordinated assaults claimed by the BLF in recent days, targeting Pakistani forces, convoys, and state infrastructure across multiple districts of Balochistan.

On Wednesday evening, BLF fighters reportedly launched a rocket-propelled grenade and heavy weapons assault on a military checkpoint in Jhao, Seerh, claiming multiple casualties among Pakistani soldiers.

On Thursday morning, the group said it targeted a military convoy in the Badrang area of Kolwah with an improvised explosive device (IED), destroying an armoured vehicle and killing all personnel inside. It added that the convoy sustained additional casualties in a follow-up ambush.

Later that day, the group claimed to have damaged two trucks transporting minerals from the Waheer area of Wadh. The drivers were released after being warned. The BLF reiterated its earlier threat that anyone assisting in mineral extraction “will be dealt with severely.”

In Mashkay’s Khandadi area, the group said it targeted a joint road construction and security team with an IED on Wednesday morning, destroying a vehicle and causing casualties.

On the same day, BLF fighters reportedly intercepted a ration supply vehicle in Gomazi, Tump, and seized its contents. In an earlier attack on 6 May, the group said it damaged a truck carrying military construction equipment in Paroom’s Jahain area.

“The Balochistan Liberation Front accepts full responsibility for the attacks,” the group said. “Our fighters will continue to strike against the occupying forces and security agencies at every step until the independence of Balochistan is achieved.”
