Two “pro-independence” Baloch armed groups, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), have claimed responsibility for a series of attacks against Pakistani security forces, police, and mineral transport vehicles across Balochistan.

Baloch Liberation Army attacks

In a statement issued on Saturday, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that the group’s fighters carried out three separate operations in Turbat, Hoshap, and Mastung, killing two security personnel and damaging three vehicles.

According to the BLA, the first attack took place on Friday night in Satellite Town, along Airport Road in Turbat. A remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) targeted an armoured military vehicle, killing one soldier and injuring two others. The vehicle was reportedly severely damaged.

The attack in Turbat was the third IED operation carried out by the BLA within 24 hours. On Thursday, the group said it had targeted a military truck in the Tigraan area of Zamuran, killing four soldiers and wounding four others. On Friday, another IED blast reportedly completely destroyed a military vehicle in Margat, near Quetta, killing 10 Pakistani soldiers.

In Saturday’s statement, Jeeyand Baloch said a second attack was carried out in the Hoshap area of Kech district, where BLA fighters ambushed soldiers near a military camp at Dhumb. One soldier was reportedly killed and two others wounded.

In a third attack, BLA fighters targeted two vehicles at Chuto in Mastung, claiming the vehicles were being used to transport “looted mineral resources” from the region.

BLF claims six separate attacks

Meanwhile, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) said it conducted six operations targeting Pakistani military forces, police, and supply convoys.

According to BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, on 10 April, BLF fighters damaged surveillance cameras, solar systems, and other military communication installations in the Siyahlo area of Dasht.

On the night of 22 April, BLF fighters intercepted a police patrol vehicle in Josak, Turbat, setting it on fire after police personnel fled the scene. The same night, a BLF unit attacked a police station in D Baloch and later clashed with Pakistani soldiers in the Ginnah area of Turbat.

On 25 April, BLF spokesperson said they targeted security personnel outside the Military Intelligence office in Mand Soro, reportedly causing casualties, before attacking the building itself with heavy weapons.

On 26 April, BLF fighters fired grenade launchers at the Frontier Corps (FC) camp in central Kharan city. In a separate attack near Apsi Khan and Hamzai, BLF fighters bombed a supply vehicle allegedly supporting military operations.

The BLF identified the targeted vehicle’s owner as Shafi Muhammad alias Shupak, claiming he had been repeatedly warned to cease cooperation with Pakistani security forces. The group described the bombing as a “final warning.”

Both the BLA and BLF said they would continue operations against Pakistani forces until their demands for an independent Balochistan are met.
