The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) says it has carried out three separate attacks targeting Pakistani military forces in Quetta, Panjgur, and Turbat, resulting in three soldiers killed and at least ten others injured.
According to the BLA, the first attack took place on Friday in Quetta, where an improvised explosive device (IED) was remotely detonated on Jan Muhammad Road as a Pakistani military vehicle passed by.
“The explosion instantly killed three soldiers and severely injured five others, including a subedar,” the spokesperson said, adding that the vehicle was “completely destroyed.”
Eyewitnesses said that the blast shook nearby buildings and prompted emergency measures at local hospitals.
The BLA claimed a second operation on Thursday night in Panjgur, alleging that three soldiers were injured when grenade launchers targeted a security post at the army’s main camp in the city.
Separately, on February 23, the group said it launched grenade launcher rounds at a military camp in the Nasirabad area of Turbat, wounding two soldiers.
The BLA reaffirmed responsibility for all three attacks, vowing to continue targeting Pakistani forces “until the goal of an independent Balochistan is achieved.”
BLA Releases Video of Quetta Bombing
On Friday evening, the BLA’s media wing, Hakkal, released footage purportedly showing the Quetta IED attack. The video depicts BLA fighters monitoring the target vehicle before detonating the explosive device, as well as the aftermath, with smoke and debris in the area.
This Quetta bombing came just three days after another major assault in Mangochar, Kalat, where the BLA claimed to have attacked a 30-vehicle convoy transporting supplies for the Saindak project.
“BLA fighters first used a remote-controlled IED to completely destroy one military vehicle,” the group said,
“then attacked two additional army vehicles with modern weapons, killing seven personnel and wounding at least eleven others.”
BLF Claims Attacks in Turbat and Kharan
Meanwhile, another “pro-independence” armed group, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), says it carried out two separate attacks against Pakistani forces and infrastructure projects in Turbat and Kharan.
BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said that on February 28, at around 2 PM, the group’s fighters attacked a Pakistani military checkpoint in the Meri area of Turbat using grenade launchers and heavy weapons. He claimed two soldiers were injured, and that forces later fired “indiscriminately” toward nearby residential areas.
In a separate attack the same day, at 12 PM, BLF fighters reportedly targeted a construction site in Kullan, Kharan, setting fire to a tractor and other machinery. Non-local workers were given warnings before being allowed to leave, according to the BLF statement.
Major Gwahram Baloch affirmed that operations against Pakistani forces, military installations, and economic projects would continue “until Balochistan achieves independence.”
