The wave of enforced disappearances of Baloch individuals continues, with another case now reported from Sindh.

According to reports, Daud Satakzai, son of Muhammad Khair Satakzai—a resident of Machh Bolan and a professional coal transporter from Daghari—was allegedly forcibly disappeared on March 3 while traveling through Jacobabad.

His family said that Daud was transporting coal to Punjab when he was abducted around 6 a.m. near Jacobabad after his identity card was checked. Eyewitnesses said that plainclothes personnel, accompanied by police officers, stopped his vehicle and took him into custody. Since then, his whereabouts remain unknown.

Following his disappearance, his family and transport owners searched for him at relevant police stations in Jacobabad and surrounding areas, but authorities denied any knowledge of his detention. His family has expressed grave concerns for his safety and well-being, demanding that he be brought to light immediately.

This incident comes amid a surge in enforced disappearances across Balochistan. In recent days, 41 individuals have reportedly been taken from Kalat, Quetta, Nushki, and Turbat.

Of these, 35 were detained in mass raids in Kalat on Monday night, with the missing including students, traders, and local residents. They were reportedly taken into custody and moved to undisclosed locations.

Addressing the escalating crisis, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) held a press conference at the Quetta Press Club on Tuesday, where Dr. Mahrang Baloch strongly condemned the ongoing disappearances.

She warned that if the victims of enforced disappearances are not released, the BYC, in solidarity with the victims’ families, will initiate a new wave of demonstrations across Balochistan.

Dr. Mahrang further said that these protests could include road blockades, and that the Balochistan government would bear responsibility for any such developments.
