The protest against enforced disappearances in Balochistan has entered its second day, with demonstrators blocking major highways, including the Quetta-Karachi and Taftan-Quetta routes.

The sit-in, which initially took place at Nawab Hotel, has now expanded to Lakpas, where protesters have cut off traffic on the Taftan-Quetta and Quetta-Karachi National Highways. Participants have warned of further road blockades across Balochistan if their demands are not met.

The demonstrators, who are calling for the immediate recovery of Zahoor Sumalani and Syed Gul Sidklani, have expressed frustration over the response from security officials. They claim that authorities arriving for negotiations admit their helplessness, stating that they lack the power to take action. Protesters are demanding that higher government officials with decision-making authority step in to resolve the issue.

“If the government does not take serious steps for the recovery of our missing persons, we will expand our protest further,” said one participant.

Despite severe cold and rain, the protesters remain steadfast, thanking transporters and passengers for their patience. They emphasize that they have no other option but to stage these sit-ins, as they have been forced to bring women and children onto the streets to demand justice.
