The Baloch Women Forum has issued a strong condemnation of the recent surge in “state-sponsored terrorism, extrajudicial killings, and enforced disappearances” in Balochistan, particularly in the Makran region. The organization has labeled these actions as part of an ongoing campaign of genocide against the Baloch people and has called for immediate international intervention.

Recent Incidents of Violence and Disappearances

In a statement, the Baloch Women Forum highlighted a series of incidents that have taken place in recent days, demonstrating the grave human rights violations occurring in Balochistan:

  • Sharif Zakir, a renowned teacher and scholar, has been repeatedly harassed and attacked. His son and cousin were recently abducted, showcasing the state’s blatant disregard for human rights and civilian safety.
  • Hayat Sabzal was forcibly disappeared by security forces on July 3, 2024, from Turbat. His mutilated body was discovered in Panjgoor on February 11, 2025, in a chilling act of brutality that has devastated his family and community.
  • Allah Dad, a young and brilliant Baloch scholar, was targeted and killed on February 4, 2025, in Turbat. His murder is a devastating loss to the Baloch intellectual community.
  • Eleven Baloch youth were forcibly disappeared from Pasni and Kulanch (Chakkuli), adding to the ever-growing list of missing persons in the region.
  • Asma Bibi, a young Baloch woman, was forcefully dragged away from her home on the midnight of February 5-6 by local state militias, with her family members brutally beaten. Public outrage and protests, including the blocking of roads across Balochistan, led to a forced video statement being released by authorities. However, the video was dismissed as fabricated after Asma was recovered. The perpetrators remain free and unpunished.

Baloch Women Forum Calls for International Action

The Baloch Women Forum has strongly condemned the systematic targeting of Baloch youth, scholars, and intellectuals, asserting that these actions are part of a broader effort to suppress Baloch identity and resistance. The forum has appealed to the international community and human rights organizations to take immediate and practical steps against these atrocities.

The organization stressed the urgent need for accountability, justice for the victims, and an end to the impunity enjoyed by perpetrators. Despite repeated appeals, the silence of the international community remains a major concern. The Baloch Women Forum has reiterated its demand for global intervention to prevent further human rights violations and ensure justice for the oppressed people of Balochistan.
