Dr. Mahrang Baloch, leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, has issued a strong statement condemning the ongoing violence and human rights abuses in Balochistan. She described the region as a land perpetually marred by brutality, with daily incidents of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and mass graves. Dr. Mahrang emphasized that the systematic oppression has left countless families grieving and fearful.

Speaking at a press conference, Dr. Mahrang stated, “Every passing day, mothers are deprived of their children, who are either subjected to inhumane torture in secret detention centers or their mutilated bodies are discarded in desolate areas. Some victims are left to die unidentified in Edhi morgues, labeled as ‘unclaimed,’ or buried in mass graves. This barbaric treatment strips victims of their humanity and subjects them to unimaginable suffering.”

She highlighted the frequency of attacks by Pakistani forces and their affiliated death squads, alleging that homes are raided, women and children assaulted, and men abducted without justification. “This is a calculated and systematic effort to turn Balochistan into a land of perpetual mourning and suffering,” she added, pointing to the broader implications of the ongoing state violence.

Dr. Mahrang accused the Pakistani state of orchestrating a campaign to instill fear and assert control over the Baloch people. “Through enforced disappearances and anonymous burials in unmarked graves, they seek to convey that our lives and deaths are at the mercy of oppressive state institutions. Their aim is to dehumanize us to the point where our existence holds no value,” she asserted.

The Baloch leader also accused the state of exploiting Balochistan’s resources while systematically marginalizing its people. She stated, “They have long been planning to secure their dominion over our lands by committing genocide against our people. However, we, as Baloch, are inheritors of a proud history of resistance. Our ancestors have always resisted oppressive forces, and it is our duty to uphold that legacy.”

Dr. Mahrang urged the Baloch community to unite and resist these atrocities. She emphasized the importance of showing solidarity against the ongoing violence. “We are not voiceless; neither are our martyrs nor our land. Silence in the face of such oppression will only pave the way for future generations to suffer the same fate. Our identity, which has withstood thousands of years of history, cannot be erased by their tyrannical policies,” she declared.

She recounted a recent press conference held in Mastung, where families gathered at the site of mass graves to reaffirm their commitment to seeking justice. “We made a pledge: these graves are not unclaimed, and neither is Balochistan. Our struggle will continue until justice is served.”

Dr. Mahrang announced that a national gathering would be held in Dalbandin on January 25, 2025, to protest the ongoing atrocities and to demonstrate to the world that the Baloch people are neither voiceless nor abandoned. “I call upon all Baloch to participate in this gathering. Let’s send a clear message to the world that we stand united and will not tolerate this genocide in silence. These so-called unclaimed graves and bodies are symbols of our resistance and sacrifices. They are the legacy of our martyrs,” she concluded.
