The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a “pro-independence” armed group, has claimed responsibility for an attack on a Pakistani military post in Dukki, Balochistan.

In a statement released to the media, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the group’s fighters targeted the military post on Friday night. “Last night, the fighters attacked the occupying Pakistani army in Dukki, during which several shells were fired using a grenade launcher at the enemy army’s positions,” the statement read.

According to the BLA, four Pakistani military personnel were killed, and at least six others were injured in the attack. The group identified two of the deceased as Sepoy Abu Sufyan, a resident of Bahawalpur, and Sepoy Ehsanullah, a resident of Rahim Yar Khan.

Jeeyand Baloch said that the group’s fighters retreated to secure locations as planned after the attack. He alleged that the military responded with indiscriminate fire and mortar shelling in various directions, causing panic in the area.

The Baloch Liberation Army said it takes full responsibility for the attack and vowed to continue its operations.

The Pakistani military’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has not yet commented on the attack in Dukki.
