The Government of Balochistan has imposed Section 144, citing concerns over the law and order situation across the region.
Section 144 is a legal provision that empowers district administrations to prohibit gatherings of four or more people for a limited period.
A notification issued by the Home Department stated that carrying weapons and gatherings of more than five people are prohibited. Authorities warned of strict action against violations, including illegal assemblies or the use of weapons.
The decision comes amid escalating protests in various parts of Balochistan. In Awaran, demonstrators are holding a sit-in against the enforced disappearance of Diljan Baloch. In Quetta, protests at Serena Chowk demanding the recovery of missing student Muhammad Masoor have continued for nine days.
An all-parties call for a wheel-jam strike across Balochistan has also been announced for November 25.
