Pakistani security forces have intensified their operations in Balochistan’s Dukki and Dasht areas. The operation in Dasht Kadan area of the Kech district followed an attack on a military camp on Sunday.
Reports indicate that armed assailants attacked the camp late Sunday night, resulting in the death of a Pakistani soldier, identified as Naik Saifullah, and injuries to eight other personnel. Following the incident, no group has claimed responsibility, though authorities suspect involvement by Baloch “separatist” groups active in the region.
In response, the forces have imposed a strict curfew across the area, with all entry and exit points sealed and local mobile networks suspended, creating heightened fear and uncertainty among residents. Shops and educational institutions have been shut down, with helicopters seen patrolling the area and a heavy military presence on the ground.
During the ongoing operation, two local youths, identified as Talal, son of Umar, and Amir Baloch, son of Ibrahim, were reportedly detained and moved to undisclosed locations. Additional details about their detention remain unclear, and the enforced curfew and communication restrictions make it difficult to gather further information.
This operation comes on the heels of other recent developments in Balochistan, including the reported disappearance of Dostain, son of Shah Murad Bugti, from Dera Bugti, allegedly taken by security forces. Meanwhile, the Pakistani military is conducting a large-scale operation in Balochistan’s Dukki. Sources informed TBP that ground forces are actively conducting extensive operations in the region.
This operation is focused on the areas of Rabat, Pori, Korani, and the surrounding areas, where forces have conducted raids and searched numerous homes.
So far, no information has been provided regarding any arrests. Additionally, reports indicate heavy gunfire in the area. Authorities have not released any further details on the operation.
