A large-scale military operation is underway in Nushki district of Balochistan. Gunship helicopters and other aircraft, along with numerous military vehicles, have been observed heading towards the mountainous region.
According to reports, the Pakistan Army initiated the operation this morning in the mountainous areas of Dosaha and the surrounding regions, where helicopter activity has been ongoing. Sources indicate that around ten vehicles carrying personnel from the Pakistani forces were seen advancing towards the area. During the operation, communication systems in the region have reportedly been restricted. Authorities have yet to provide any official details regarding the operation.
Similar military operations have been reported in other districts of Balochistan in the past few days. In Panjgur district, a military operation is underway in the mountainous Tehsil Paarom area. Local sources report that Pakistani forces have moved into the Paarom mountain range.
In Bolan’s Machh area, operations are ongoing around Pir Ghaib and nearby regions. Communication services have been suspended in these areas as well, according to local sources.
Meanwhile, internet services have been widely disrupted across Balochistan. Following earlier shutdowns in Gwadar, Kech, Panjgur, and Khuzdar, the blackout has now extended to Ziarat, Kalat, Mangocher, Bolan, Dukki, Loralai, Pishin, Harnai, and Machh. Residents report severe disruptions to daily life, with financial transactions through platforms like EasyPaisa and JazzCash becoming impossible. They argue that internet access is critical for education, commerce, and communication.
On Monday, during a Senate Committee on IT and Telecom meeting, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman Major General (Retd.) Hafiz Rahman confirmed the internet shutdown.
He informed the committee that a letter was received from the Ministry of Interior requesting the suspension of internet services in Balochistan due to security concerns related to the ongoing military operation.
The PTA chairman clarified that the decision to suspend internet services was made to avoid any disruption to the operation.
