Two major Baloch armed groups, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), have claimed responsibility for a series of attacks targeting alleged agents and operatives of the Pakistani military and security forces in Balochistan’s Nushki, Mastung, Turbat, and Khuzdar regions.
In a statement released on Thursday, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that on Wednesday evening, BLA fighters conducted an operation in Nushki’s station area, targeting two men identified as Israr Muhammad Hassani and Yasir Jamaldini. The BLA alleged that both men were part of a “state-backed death squad.”
“Israr, from Badalkarez, and Yasir, from Killi Jamaldini, were on the payroll of the occupying forces,” the spokesperson said, adding that the two were allegedly involved in military operations that included raids and enforced disappearances of Baloch youth.
The BLA further alleged that both men were involved in extortion and theft under the protection of Pakistani forces. The group stated that they had been under surveillance prior to the attack and warned that others engaged in similar activities would “face similar consequences.”
Separately, the BLA reported that on October 25, its fighters detained and later executed two other alleged agents in Mastung’s Spilinji area. The men, identified as Mohib Ali and Imam Ali, reportedly confessed to working as informants for Pakistani military intelligence, according to the BLA.
The BLA alleged that Mohib Ali admitted to providing information that led to enforced disappearances in Mastung, Quetta, and Dasht, while Imam Ali reportedly confessed to assisting in military surveillance of BLA activities in the region.
The BLA statement concluded by saying that both men had been sentenced to death by the “Baloch national court” for alleged treason. The group emphasized that its campaign against Pakistani military personnel and collaborators would continue.
Meanwhile, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for the killing of Ghafoor, described as a key “death squad” operative, in Turbat’s Satellite Town on November 5.
According to BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, Ghafoor and two associates were attacked by BLF fighters following a tactical wait to ensure that civilians, including children, had left the area. Ghafoor was killed instantly, while his son, Hasan Ghafoor—a police officer—was injured, as was Sadiq, the district chairman of the PPP in Turbat.
Major Gwahram Baloch alleged that Ghafoor had been involved in forced disappearances and other activities on behalf of Pakistani security agencies, adding that he had previously provided intelligence leading to the death of a BLF commander in 2016. The spokesperson warned other alleged collaborators of similar consequences if they continue aiding state forces.
In another statement, the BLF claimed responsibility for an attack on a security post at a Frontier Corps (FC) camp in Zarina Kathan, Khuzdar, on November 6. The group said that a grenade was thrown inside the post, resulting in losses for Pakistani forces. “The BLF will continue targeting occupying forces and their installations until the goal of an independent Balochistan is achieved,” Major Gwahram Baloch said.
