The Baloch Raaji Ajoi Sangar (BRAS), a coalition of Baloch armed groups, has claimed responsibility for 45 attacks across Balochistan, targeting Pakistani military personnel, installations, and infrastructure. According to a press release issued by BRAS on Friday, November 15, these coordinated operations, conducted at 42 locations, resulted in the deaths of 20 Pakistani military personnel, including Major Haseeb of the Loralai Scouts. The attacks were launched in commemoration of ‘Baloch Martyrs’ Day’ on November 13, a date marked to honour those who have died in the struggle for Baloch independence. As per the BRAS spokesperson Baloch Khan, BRAS fighters also blockaded key highways and conducted snap checks, asserting their control in certain areas.
Key Incidents Highlighted by BRAS:
- Highway Blockades and Targeted Strikes: BRAS fighters reportedly blocked major highways in Rakshan, Khuzdar, and Harnai, conducting vehicle inspections and targeting military convoys. A Pakistan Army’s armoured vehicle was destroyed near Ziarat Mangi Dam in Harnai using a remote-controlled IED, killing Pakistan Army’s Major Haseeb and injuring three personnel.
- Attacks on Military Camps: Several Pakistani army camps and posts were attacked with rockets, grenade launchers, and other heavy weaponry in areas including Turbat, Awaran, Kech, and Mastung. In Mashkay, a coordinated assault resulted in the deaths of three personnel and injuries to others.
- Coastal Operations: BRAS fighters targeted Pakistan Coast Guard installations near Ormara, destroying three outposts and causing casualties. They also burned machinery and camps belonging to mining companies along the Makran Coastal Highway.
- Execution of Intelligence Agents: BRAS claimed to have captured and executed two personnel of Pakistani intelligence agencies near Harnai during vehicle inspections.
- CPEC Route Disruption: In Rakshan, Surab, BRAS temporarily blocked the route associated with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), attacking a levies police station and seizing weapons.
Sabotage and Property Damage:
BRAS fighters reportedly destroyed a 36-inch gas pipeline in the Basti Nawaz area of Rojhan, burned road construction machinery near Dukki, and targeted communication towers in Barkhan. Surveillance equipment, including spy cameras, was dismantled in Panjgur and Bolan.
Tribute to Baloch ‘Martyrs’:
The BRAS press release emphasized its commitment to achieving a free and prosperous Balochistan, honouring the sacrifices of those who died for the cause. The statement vowed to continue the armed struggle with the support of the Baloch people.
