The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has released a video message from Shah Fahad Badini, also known as Aftab, the “Fidayee (self-sacrificer)” responsible for the deadly October 6 attack near Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, which targeted a convoy of Chinese engineers and investors.
The attack, claimed by the BLA’s “elite” Majeed Brigade, resulted in the deaths of five Chinese nationals and at least 15 Pakistani security personnel, according to the group. The Chinese Embassy confirmed that three engineers from Bin Qasim Port—Chi Jun, He Chunxin, and Li Zhao—were among the dead.
In an eight-minute video published by the BLA’s media wing, Hakkal, Shah Fahad is seen inside a vehicle, delivering what he describes as his final message. He begins by invoking a historical phrase often associated with resistance movements: “When oppression becomes law, resistance becomes a duty.”
Addressing the people of China directly, Shah Fahad warns them of the Baloch people’s opposition to what he calls China’s illegal exploitation of Balochistan’s resources. “For years, you have turned a blind eye to the truth. You have tried to extract wealth from a land over which you have no moral or legal authority, and it is not your land,” he declares.
Shah Fahad criticizes China for financially supporting Pakistan’s military operations in Balochistan and aiding what he calls a “genocidal campaign” against the Baloch people. “Your hands are not clean. By backing Pakistan’s genocide of the Baloch, you have sided with oppression,” he states.
The attacker demands that China halt all projects in Balochistan, specifically mentioning the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Gwadar port, which he claims are central to China’s exploitation of the region. “We demand that you immediately cease all exploitative projects on our land, including the illegal and destructive Gwadar port project,” Shah Fahad says.
He further threatens China’s economic interests in Pakistan, warning, “No amount of profit, nor the depth of the sea, will keep your investments safe from the rightful struggle of the Baloch nation.” He emphasizes that the BLA is prepared to strike Chinese interests “anytime and anywhere.”
Shah Fahad calls on Chinese government officials, companies, and workers to withdraw from Balochistan immediately, stating that continued involvement will lead to more attacks.
“China, do not think you can play the role of a neutral investor while aiding a government that massacres innocents. Withdraw now or face the consequences,” he warns. “Your investments will burn, your personnel will not be safe, and your allies will fall.” He adds, “We will not allow Balochistan to be sold to the highest bidder.”
The video ends with his final warning: “This is your final warning. We will not stop. We will not give in. And we will not rest until Balochistan is free.”
