At least one Baloch youth was killed and another injured in a shooting by unknown assailants in Khash city, located in western (Iranian-administered) Balochistan.
According to reports, unidentified assailants in a vehicle opened fire on two youths sitting by the roadside in the Samadabad area of Khash city, resulting in the death of one and the injury of another. The attackers fled the scene unhurt after the shooting.
The shooting took place on the evening of Wednesday, August 21. The deceased has been identified as 14-year-old Daniyal Mahmoodzahi s/o Muslim, while the injured is 17-year-old Bahader Darzahi s/o Latif.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and the motive behind the incident remains unclear. Notably, more than 150 Baloch, including five children and four women, were killed, and at least 42 were injured in similar shooting incidents in western (Iranian-administered) Balochistan last year.
