Road blockades have spread across Balochistan, with armed men reportedly setting up blockades on key highways in Kech, Kalat, and other districts, inspecting vehicles following a major blockade in Gwadar.
In Kech district, armed men have established a blockade on the main highway between Mand and Turbat at Hothabad. According to local sources, these men are stopping vehicles and conducting inspections.
Similarly, in Kalat district, a blockade has been reported at the Koh Mahlibi location, where individuals are inspecting vehicles on the highway. There are unconfirmed reports that Levies personnel have been detained, although further details remain unavailable.
In addition to Kech and Kalat, other major highways, including those in Tagran, Turbat, and along the Quetta-Taftan road, have also been blocked. Highways in Bolan and the Koh-e-Sulaiman region remain blocked as well.
These incidents come shortly after a major blockade in Gwadar’s Jiwani area, where armed men blocked the Coastal Highway. During that blockade, the attackers reportedly detained police officials at a checkpost, seizing their weapons and ammunition. They also set fire to several vehicles transporting minerals.
