The Baloch Yakjehti Committee has announced that the Baloch Raaji Muchi will be held on Sunday, July 28, at 3 PM in Pidi Zar, Gwadar. In a statement, the committee accused the Pakistani state of using all its resources and power to sabotage the event, interpreting these actions as signs of the state’s panic and fear. They urged the Baloch nation to resist these repressive measures and support the gathering.
The committee appealed to the Baloch people to provide transportation, rations, and other necessary supplies for the gathering, despite the state’s threats to transporters, cooks, and shopkeepers. The statement emphasized that state repression has only increased the significance of the Baloch Raaji Muchi, making it an important cause for all segments of Baloch society. The committee urged everyone to play their part in resisting oppression for the sake of current and future generations.
In solidarity with the Baloch Raaji Muchi, the committee announced a shutter-down strike across Makran, excluding Gwadar, where shopkeepers are expected to supply essential items to participants. They described the gathering as the beginning of a well-organized public struggle against Baloch genocide and a step towards unity and reconstruction of the Baloch nation.
The BYC Organizers have issued travel guidelines for participants coming from various parts of Balochistan and beyond. All convoys are instructed to follow the route schedule provided by the central committee of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee. Each convoy will include responsible members of the contact committee who will ensure adherence to the schedule. Participants are advised to bring essential items such as water, dry food, blankets, and mosquito repellent. The travel guidelines recommended that each person also bring a mosquito net.
The travel guidelines state that during the journey, any issues will be handled by the contact committee members. All vehicles and motorcycles in the convoy should remain close to each other, and no vehicle should separate from the convoy. The maximum speed should not exceed 80 km/h. The guidelines say that only designated individuals will lead the chanting of slogans, and no one else is permitted to do so.
The BYC guidelines prohibit any individuals from carrying flags of any party or organization, weapons, dangerous tools, or intoxicating substances. Everyone is urged to take care of their belongings and avoid bringing valuable items or large amounts of cash. Due to the expected large crowds, children under ten, elderly individuals, and those with serious illnesses are advised not to attend, the guidelines conclude.
It should be noted that the Balochistan government has intensified its efforts to prevent the Baloch Raaji Muchi gathering scheduled for July 28 in Gwadar. Authorities have implemented several measures, including shutting down internet services in Gwadar and Turbat, and enforcing roadblocks on main highways throughout Makran and Hub Chowki to disrupt travel to the event. Additionally, police have conducted raids in various districts, resulting in numerous arrests of Baloch Yakjehti Committee members and supporters. Security forces have been extensively deployed, and the local administration has enforced Section 144 to prohibit gatherings and protests in Quetta’s Red Zone area.
In the lead-up to the gathering, several instances of enforced disappearances have been reported. Individuals, including key figures like Jeeyand Baloch, Chairman of the Baloch Students Organization, have been detained. These actions, along with the use of containers and tankers to block roads and restrict movement, highlight the government’s determination to stifle the Baloch Raaji Muchi. The Baloch Yakjehti Committee has condemned these repressive measures, urging the Baloch people to resist and support the gathering despite the state’s crackdown.
