The Pakistani security forces have allegedly forcibly ‘forcibly disappeared’ a youth from Gwadar, the coastal city of Balochistan.
According to reports, Pakistani forces have reportedly detained a young man identified as Qadir Bakhsh, son of Haji Rahim Dad, a resident of the Prom area of Panjgur. He was picked up from a check post in Gwadar and shifted to an undisclosed location.
The government or local authorities have not confirmed or denied the allegations of the alleged ‘abduction’ and have not yet commented on the incident.
The incident marks a decades-long policy of enforced disappearances taking root in Balochistan, which is on the rise daily. On the other hand, the families of the victims continue to protest for a fair trial for their loved ones. However, the government often comments on the allegations and denies that Baloch “missing” persons have been detained by Pakistani law enforcement agencies.
