Two Baloch “pro-independence” armed groups have claimed responsibility for a series of attacks targeting Pakistani security forces, Levies personnel, and police installations in Hoshap, Panjgur, Mand, and Gomazi areas of Balochistan.

BLA Takes Control of Highway and Levies Post in Hoshap

In a statement issued on Monday, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said its fighters temporarily seized control of the main highway between Turbat and Hoshap, setting up a checkpoint and conducting snap-checks for several hours.

Simultaneously, a separate BLA unit reportedly captured the Gwandh Saren Levies post in the same area. The group’s spokesperson, Jeeyand Baloch, said Levies personnel were briefly taken into custody during the operation.

“All weapons found at the Levies post were confiscated,” Mr Baloch said. He added that the Levies personnel were later released unharmed.

The spokesperson said the operations were part of the BLA’s ongoing campaign against the “Pakistani occupation” in Balochistan.

BLF Claims Attack on Military Camp and Police Station Raid

Meanwhile, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for three operations, including an assault on a military camp, a police station raid, and a separate attack on a military checkpoint.

In a statement released by BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, the group said its fighters attacked a military camp in Chitkan, Panjgur, on Monday. The assault reportedly took place during a meeting attended by senior military officers.

“Our intelligence confirmed that high-ranking officials had arrived earlier by helicopter for this meeting,” Major Gwahram said.

The group said heavy weaponry was used during the attack, which caused significant casualties and damage. Pakistani forces reportedly imposed security restrictions in response, but the BLF claimed its fighters withdrew safely.

On the evening of 19 April, BLF fighters also attacked a police station in the Grid Bazaar area of Mand, Kech district. Police personnel were reportedly held hostage while fighters seized all weapons and equipment stored at the facility.

Major Gwahram said the police were released unharmed “out of respect for Baloch values and humanitarian principles.”

Later that same night, BLF fighters launched another attack on a military checkpoint in Gomazi, established at the residence of a military officer identified as Captain Jahangir. Grenade launchers were reportedly used in the assault, resulting in casualties and material damage.

Both the BLA and BLF reiterated their commitment to continued attacks on Pakistani security forces, stating that their operations would continue until the “complete independence of Balochistan” is achieved.
