Families of missing persons in Balochistan, who have been staging a protest in Turbat since the first day of Eid, moved their sit-in protest camp from its initial location to the front of the Kech deputy commissioner’s office on Thursday.
The security forces attempted to halt their progress by placing obstacles in their way, but the protestors pushed through, successfully relocating their camp to the DC office.
The protest, which was previously held at Shaheed Fida Chowk in Turbat, saw the families carrying portraits of their missing loved ones. The protestors were also carrying banners inscribed with slogans against enforced disappearances and chanting for the safe release of their missing loved ones.
Notable figures, including Kamash Nako Mir from Buleda, Baloch Yakjehti Committee leader Waseem Safar, and Turbat Civil Society convener Gulzar Dost, joined the protest. Members of student organizations like BSO and BSO Pajjar also marched alongside the families, demonstrating unwavering resolve.
