According to Chief Mines Inspector Quetta Abdul Ghani Baloch, 11 people died of suffocation due to the release of poisonous gas in a coal mine in Sanjadi area.
He said that the deceased included nine labourers, a contractor and a mine manager, adding that the deceased belonged to Swat area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Dozens of coal mining projects are working in Balochistan, in which thousands of workers from Balochistan and other cities have been victims of these accidents at different occasions. Labor unions working in these coal mines, and organizations working to protect the rights of workers, attribute these accidents to poor facilities and substandard materials provided to the workers.
