In Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, local traders shuttered their shops in a widespread protest on Tuesday. The protest was sparked by recent raids carried out by Pakistani security forces, including the Frontier Corps (FC) and Customs, which the traders claim are disrupting their businesses.
The traders are demanding an immediate cessation of these raids, which they describe as “economic assassination.” They assert that their businesses operate legally, and that the forceful seizures of their goods by security personnel are unjustifiable under any circumstances.
The traders are calling for the right to conduct their businesses without interference, emphasizing that the actions of the security forces are causing significant economic harm.
