At least four people, including three foreigners, were killed and four others injured in an attack in Afghanistan’s Bamyan province.

According to reports, unidentified gunmen attacked a vehicle carrying foreigners in the city of Bamyan, Afghanistan.

Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani, the Interior Ministry, confirmed the incident in a post on the social networking site X. He stated that three foreigners and one Afghan national were killed, and four others (including three Afghans) were injured in the shooting incident in Bamyan. He added that four suspects have been detained in connection with the incident.

The attack took place on Friday evening in the “Sar Bazar” area, in front of the “Highland” hotel in central Bamyan.

The nationalities of the deceased foreigners have not been disclosed yet. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

This is the first attack in which foreign nationals have been killed in Afghanistan since the Taliban’s takeover in 2021.
