A fatal shooting incident has been reported in the Kohlu district of Balochistan, where a man was allegedly killed on Wednesday.
The victim, identified as Malu Gungurani, was reportedly targeted by unknown assailants in the Kahan area of the district. Sources suggest that Gungurani was associated with a government-backed armed group known as a “Death Squad.” The reasons behind the shooting remain unclear at this point.
This incident follows a similar event that occurred on Tuesday, where a reputed associate and friend of Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfaraz Bugti was also killed by unidentified attackers in Sui, Dera Bugti.
It is important to highlight that groups referred to as ‘death squads’, which are believed to be state-sponsored, have been implicated in a series of enforced disappearances and killings in Balochistan. These groups have also been linked to other adverse social issues within the region.
