“The atrocities against us committed by the Pakistan army and its intelligence agencies are unforgivable,” Salia Marri.

Salia Marri w/o missing Mir Taj Muhammad Sarparah in a brief statement shared her plight with The Balochistan Post (TBP).

Mir Taj Muhammad Sarparah and his driver allegedly forcibly disappeared by the Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) agencies on 19th July 2020, in Pakistan’s city of Karachi.

Salia Marri said in her statement that “Enforced disappearance stands as an egregious violation of human rights inflicting immeasurable suffering on victims and their families.” Three years and 10 months passed since the forced disappearance of my husband, Mir Taj Muhammad Sarparah, and still, his fate and whereabouts remain unknown. After three months his detention, the ISI raided and looted my house in the Defence area of the city to further exacerbate our anguish by forcibly disappearing our housekeepers for three months.

Despite the efforts of high political sources to secure the safe release of my husband, the presence of CCTV footage, and FIRs, still we have not been provided justice. My husband’s case is not an isolated incident but a stark reminder of the rampant human rights abuses perpetrated by Pakistan agencies and the army, she added.

Salia Marri demanding the safe return of her husband said, that each passing day deepens the anguish for me and my children, who yearn for their father’s return. The uncertainty surrounding our loved ones’ fate is unbearable. The absence of our family members casts a daily shadow of torment over our lives. Enforced disappearances fracture families, leaving them in a state of perpetual uncertainty.

She further said the pain of not knowing our loved one’s fate is a constant torment. Pakistani agencies have perpetuated a cruel pattern of enforced disappearances, torture, and killings of Baloch innocents for decades. Although the faces may vary, the pain remains universal. The atrocities committed by the Pakistan Army and agencies against us are unforgivable. It is imperative to address these injustices and ensure accountability.

Salia Marri appealed to Human Rights Organizations to play an active role in advocating for the safe release of her husband and all missing persons in Balochistan.
