During the 38th meeting of the 55th regular United Nations Human Rights Council session, Baloch activist Sammi Deen Baloch intervened and urged the international community to take immediate action on human rights violations in Balochistan.
Ms. Baloch, whose father, Dr. Deen Muhammad Baloch, has been missing since 2009 after being detained by Pakistani forces, emphasized the need for an impartial investigation by the UN, alongside a demand for the Pakistani military and intelligence agencies to disclose the whereabouts of all missing persons.
Following her address, she reiterated her message on social media, stressing the importance of protecting the people of Balochistan and holding perpetrators accountable.
“I emphasized the urgent need to address human rights violations in Balochistan. It’s crucial to prioritize the protection of Balochistan’s people and ensure accountability for any abuses,” she said on ‘X’.
