Four individuals who had forcibly disappeared allegedly at the hands of Pakistani forces, including Rangers and intelligence agencies, from various regions in Balochistan, including Karachi, at different times, have been recovered and returned to their homes.

The verification of the recovery of these individuals has been confirmed by their relatives and local sources.

According to reports, a man named Sultan Saeed, who became a victim of forced disappearance in the Liyari’s Gull Mohammadi area of Karachi on January 30, 2021, allegedly at the hands of Pakistan Rangers and secretive agencies, has safely returned home after a two-year ordeal.

A week earlier, another individual, Qasim Malar, who had gone missing in Turbat and was under forced custody reportedly by Pakistani forces, has also been recovered. Additionally, two young residents of Turbat, Samad Asa and Saqim Shahdad, were recovered yesterday after being forcibly disappeared from Balochistan’s Turbat reportedly by Pakistani forces.

The circumstances surrounding the forced disappearances raise concerns and questions about human rights violations in Balochistan. The families of the recovered individuals express both relief and lingering apprehensions about the well-being of their loved ones during their period of captivity. Several local and international human rights organizations allege Pakistani law-enforcement forces’ involvement in forced disappearances in the region.
