Two Baloch youths have been reportedly forcibly disappeared allegedly by Pakistani law-enforcement agencies from Khuzdar district of Balochistan.
According to reports, Pakistani law-enforcement agencies allegedly forcibly disappeared a groom, who was engaged in preparations for his wedding ceremony. The incident occured in Naalkudask area of Khuzdar on Saturday afternoon. As per sources, the youth was to get married two days later when the forces detained him.
The abducted youth has been identified as, Liaquat son of Sakhi DadIn 2012, the aforementioned youth’s father was shot dead allegedly by government-backed milita, locally known as “death squads”.
Similarly, another youth identified as Liaquat son of Saleh Muhammad was allegedly detained by Pakistani security forces and secretive agencies during a raid on a shop. The incident took place in Khuzdar’s Zehri town on Friday.
Witnesses told the TBP that Pakistani forces cordoned off the area at the time of the incident, and they were accompanied by plainclothed secret services personnel.
It’s pertinent to mention that even after 24 hours, the district authorities have not yet provided any details in this regard.
Incidents of enforced disappearances are not uncommon in Balochistan and are reported on a daily basis. On the other hand, the affected families continue to hold demonstrations and seminars to highlight the growing concerns over the increasing cases of forced disappearances and “fake encounters” of the missing persons.
