Sajan Malookhani, a law student at Sindh University, has reportedly gone missing, leaving his family and colleagues in distress. The “Voice for Missing Persons of Sindh” (VMP-Sindh), a human rights organization based in Sindh, is urging immediate efforts to locate and bring back the missing student.
According to Sasui Lohar, the Press Secretary of the VMP-Sindh, Sajan Malookhani was traveling from Hyderabad to his home village when he was reportedly taken into custody by Pakistani secretive agencies and armed forces. This incident has raised serious concerns about human rights violations in the region, as VMP-Sindh claims that Pakistani forces have been conducting state operations with increased intensity in Sindh.
The situation has caught the attention of international organizations as well. VMP-Sindh has submitted Sajan Malookhani’s case to Amnesty International and other international human rights forums, seeking their assistance in ensuring the safe return of the missing student.
As per the VMP-Sindh, Sajan’s elder brother, Rawal Malookhani, and his cousin, Naeem Malookhani, were also abducted by Pakistani forces in the past.
In response to these incidents, Voice for Missing Persons of Sindh has announced plans to stage a protest to draw attention to the enforced disappearances of students and political workers. They have called upon the United Nations, United Nations Human Rights, Amnesty International South Asia, and other global human rights organizations to take immediate notice of Sajan Malookhani’s disappearance.
The Sindh Sujagi Forum and the Young Lawyers Association of Sindh University have also voiced their condemnation of the “abduction” of the Sindh University law student.
