At least two individuals were injured in an explosion in Balochistan’s capital Quetta city on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, unidentified motorcyclists hurled a hand grenade at policemen – guarding a warehouse sealed by the district administration on Sariyab Road in Quetta.
According to police, two people identified as Niazullah and Karim Nawaz were injured in the attack. The injured were rushed to the civil hospital for medical treatment, police said.
The unidentified persons managed to escape after the attack. As soon as the incident was reported, a heavy contingent of police reached the scene and cordoned off the area. An investigation and a search operation is underway to arrest the attackers, Police told the media.
Meanwhile, a banned outfit, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) took responsibility for the attack in a press release.
