A protest organized by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) took place outside Quetta’s Press Club, spotlighting an alleged surge in enforced disappearances across Balochistan.

VBMP leaders emphasized an alarming increase particularly among students and young residents. They highlighted nearly two dozen cases of Baloch individuals reportedly taken into illegal custody in recent days. Moreover, the VBMP accused Pakistani security forces of not only detaining these individuals but also raiding the residence of the VBMP’s Research Coordinator, Hooran Baloch, subjecting her family to intimidation..

Further intensifying the situation, Saira Baloch, sister of the missing Rasheed and Asif Baloch from Khuzdar, received threatening notes at her residence, and was warned with murder threats. “Such tactics will not deter us from our peaceful struggle,” the VBMP leaders voiced.

The demonstration drew diverse participants, from VBMP leaders to political activists and families of the missing persons. Among them was Nargis Fayyaz, wife of Fayyaz Ali, who has disappeared twice. She spoke of the trauma families endure, noting her son’s frequent tearful inquiries about his father.
