Advocate Iman Mazari, a well-known Pakistani human rights activist, was allegedly tortured and thrown out of the police station when she was there for her mother’s release.
According to Mazari, her mother, PTI minister Shireen Mazari was to be released from Adiala Jail today as per the order of the Islamabad High Court, but soon after her release, the police arrested her mother and shifted her to the police station.
Iman Mazari said that when she reached the Secretariat Police Station in Islamabad, she could hear her mother screaming from outside the station. When she tried to go inside, the male policemen present at the station used physical violence and threw her out of the police station.
Iman Mazari said that now her mother has been shifted elsewhere.
Hundreds of PTI workers and leaders have been arrested so far for protesting against the Pakistan army after the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Recently, Iman Mazari’s mother Shireen Mazari was also arrested by the Islamabad Police from her house, but today the Islamabad High Court ordered the release of Shireen Mazari. Soon after her release, she was reportedly arrested again by the police.
