Two personnel of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) were injured due to a grenade bomb explosion on Tuesday evening in Balochistan’s capital city of Quetta.
According to reports, a hand grenade bomb recovered by the CTD officials on Saryab road exploded when they were carrying it. As a result, two CTD personnel, Sakhi Dad and Aminullah received injuries.
The injured personnel were immediately shifted to the hospital for medical assistance.
According to the police, after receiving a report of a hand grenade on Sariab Road, CTD and Bomb Disposal Squad personnel reached the spot and cordoned off the area. After seizing the hand grenade, the officers were taking it to a safe spot to defuse it but it went off, Police said.
According to the Quetta police, the police along with the CTD team are conducting further investigations into the incident.
Meanwhile, the city police in the Khuzdar district of Balochistan received information about IEDs in Banzgir town. The police reached the spot and recovered a hand grenade bomb which was defused.
